Feeding Components
Did you know? The AFAG Automation, Bowl Feeder (BF) and Linear Feeder (KLF) drive units, operate on a counter vibration principle which enables vibration power compensation.
So what does this mean? The useful mass(m1) i.e, the bowl top or linear track tooling, vibrates in precisely the opposite direction to a counter mass(m2).
The useful and counter masses are attached to a base ring or base plate by means of leaf springs. Equal reaction forces are thus created, which are transmitted via the leaf springs to the base ring or base plate, whilst maintaining the mass inertia moment and the mass of the bowl or linear feeder, when the useful and counter masses vibrate.
Due to the vibration of the useful mass and the vibration of the counter mass acting in opposite directions, the reaction forces at the base ring or base plate counteract one another.
Avoidance of this transmission of vibration to the base plate the feeder is mounted on, allows for direct mounting of the feeder, therefore eliminating the need for rubber mounting feed.
What are the advantages with this technology?
• Direct mounting allows for precise location of bowl and linear feeders.
• The gap between the bowl feeder outlet and linear feeder tooling can be greatly reduced. This allows very small components to be fed
• Multi bowl feeder applications, feed very effectively and without vibration interference between each feed system.
